Problems Encountered
The 2009 model had encountered problems associated with wiring harness of temperature sensor. The wires connected were inadequately crimped. The temperature sensor in the vehicle could falsely detect the high gearbox oil that lead to abrupt shift of transmission to neutral.
This abrupt shift could possibly lead to crash without any prior warnings. Consequently, 2009 models have been recalled to update the software for control module associated with the vehicle transmission. The number of potential units affected with this issue is nearly 16000.

New EOS Competitors
The current generation EOS tends to be forgotten in the midst of the convertible ranks regardless of its several advantages.
Apart from its innovative roof, the new Eos is equipped with a 2.0-L turbo 4-cylinder engine that delivers high fuel economy, punchy power, and a quick-shifting automated DSG manual transmission.
Impeccable cabin is built in order to exceed the similarly priced convertibles, and offers abundant features that help in justifying the price premium over its competitors like Mini Cooper, Ford Mustang, and Chrysler 200.
EOS is pricey when compared to its mainstream rivals like Vauxhall Astra Twintop or Ford Focus CC, but it is desirable.
2012 Preview
New 2012 model will be arriving by the end of first quarter of 2012, and it’ll be introduced in Indian markets for the first time too.
It’d be a costly affair, priced in excess of Rs 50,00,000, but due to lack of convertibles in India, perhaps it’d do really well – the direct competitor is BMW M3 available for well over Rs 60,00,000 and the new 650i that’s priced way too high at around Rs 96,00,000+
